Labuan Bajo, gateway to Komodo National Park

Labuan Bajo, on the western tip of Flores, is the starting point for sailing into Komodo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the only natural habitat of the Komodo dragon.

On a fast open-deck boat you can explore the park's highlights in one day: hike Padar Island, meet Komodo dragons on Komodo or Rinca, relax at Pink Beach, then end the day with thousands of flying foxes at Kalong Island at dusk.

The best time to sail is April to December, when the sea is calmer and the skies are clear.
